I get the "New England Progress" which is a 4 times a year magazine put out by the PHCC (plumbing heating cooling contractors) An article with the above title was in this months issue which came in today's mail. The article states: Ma State legislature is rapidly moving forward with the "Climate Road Map Bill" leading to the "Net Zero Energy Code" They are going to allow individual cities and towns to make their own decisions regarding the use of natural gas as well as potential bans on new hook ups. According to the article "a big part of the global warming is methane. Living in an old state, it's no surprise that we have over 15 thousand gas leaks under the streets which has offset all the good things we have done" Seems to me the state has never held the gas utilities responsible for maintaining there infrastucture. Now the rest of us will pay the price Just so you know this article was written by Harry Brett a special rep for the union plumbers/pipefitters So you know he doesn't want this to happen, but his tone in the article sounds like it's a done deal
