Zone valves and shutoffs and boiler drain valve placement

Hello, I ihave a hot water boiler with two zones. I recently am replacing the boiler with a new one. I was wondering what the proper placement for the boiler drain valves and ball valves are cooresponding to the zone valves. My zone valves are on the feed side, my circulating pump is on the return side. The old boiler had zone valve then ball valve then drain valve in that order going up on the feed pipe. Is that correct??
